CP Hire currently have a fleet of Bomag & Ramax remote control Trench Rollers deployed with multiple contractors on the A465 Heads of the Valleys Dualling Project in South Wales.
This infrastructure project follows the completion of earlier phases that ‘dualled’ the road from Abergavenny to Merthyr Tydfil.
These agile remote controlled rollers are hard at work supporting our customers at various locations across the Hirwaun section; a 10 km site.
When compacting material that is both hard to reach and has differential water or stone content, our customer specified the Trench Roller. The undulating terrain made it difficult for conventional drum rollers to be used. Our Cardiff depot obliged, supporting other machinery we have on the landmark project.
They can be supplied with a standard drum width of 610mm, or 850mm when fitted with extension kits. Weighing in at 1,585kg they are able to provide up to an impressive 72 kilonewtons of compaction. Making them ideal for both civils & housing projects.
